We're so excited to celebrate the release of OATFEELS: The Tender Issue AND Ali's birth with a night of tender, fiery readings and dreamy magic songs by the brilliant and amazing SPELLLING ! It'll be a super sweet transcendent night. 

This issue is brimming with deep feelings and strength and softness and hurt and questions and friendship. It's gonna be so good! Maybe we said this last time, but this is actually our last issue (!) and we really hope you'll come hang out and party with us !!

VIRGIE TOVAR is an author, activist and one of the nation's leading experts and lecturers on fat discrimination and body image. She is the founder of Babecamp, a 4-week online course designed to help women who are ready to break up with diet culture, and started the hashtag campaign#LoseHateNotWeight. She pens two weekly columns, Dear Virgie and Take the Cake. Tovar edited the ground-breaking anthology Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love and Fashion (Seal Press, November 2012) and The Feminist Press will be publishing her forthcoming book of non-fiction (2018).

JOSÉ VADI is a writer based in Oakland, California. The recipient of the San Francisco Foundation's Shenson Performing Arts Award, his writing has most recently appeared in Prelude Magazine, Berkeley Poetry Review, HOLD: a journal, Catapult and The Los Angeles Review of Books. MUD HOWARD is a non-binary trans writer who fiercely believes in the healing power of the selfie. mud curates pnk prl, a queer erasure zine, and GLOW, a bi-monthly queer poetry series. mud is a graduate of the low-res MFA Poetry Program at the IPRC in Portland. you can find their work in The Lifted Brow, pnk prl, #Trans Anthology and THEM literary journal. they love to lip sync, show up to the dance party early and paint their mustache turquoise.

TARA MARSDEN is an Oakland writer and bookseller. She co-facilitates Community Reading Group, a monthly discussion centering texts on social justice and activism. She once wrote Vonnegut-themed porn which can be found in the anthology Loose Lips: Fanfiction Parodies of Great (and Terrible) Literature from the Smutty Stage of Shipwreck. You can find her non-smut writing in Eleven Eleven, Boing Boing, and The Establishment.

MAIRA is a queer, Crazy, crafty, nonbinary babe born and raised in the Bay Area (SF/East Bay). They currently live in Oakland. Their work focuses on gender, mental illness, King of the Hill, and queerness, and can be found in the Queer Anxiety Babiez Distro catalog, a collective they're proud to be 1/3 of. CLAIRE STRINGER is an artist and bookseller living in Oakland with a loud black cat named Moomin. She has been co-headitor and illustrator of the tender-hearted and breakfast-obsessed lit zine, Oatmeal Magazine, since 2011. the bookstore is wheelchair accessible, however its bathroom is not (it's upstairs). there are accessible bathrooms at golden lotus a few doors down and also at the tribune tavern across the street, and we'll make sure that folks can use them the night of the event. please feel free to reach out to claire or any of the event people to let us know if there's any additional information/accommodations you need!
