Berkeley Poetry Review Chapbook Release at 40th St!


Berkeley Poetry Review will be holding a release party for the inaugural issue of our new chapbook series: MIDTERM 1 - Localities, Locales, Haunts, including poems from Ada Smailbegovic, Benjamin Gucciardi, Claire Marie Stancek, Jax NTP, and Renoir Gaither. The party will be hosted at the Wolfman New Life Bookstore @ 644 40th St., Oakland @ 7pm and will feature readings by a few of the poets to be published in our chapbook. Snacks and beverages will be included & we hope to see you there!


Claire Marie Stancek - Originally from outside Toronto, Ontario, Claire Marie Stancek now lives in Berkeley, California. She is the author of MOUTHS (Noemi, 2017), and with Lyn Hejinian and Jane Gregory, she edits Nion Editions. These poems are taken from her second book of poetry, Oil Spell, which is forthcoming from Omnidawn in spring 2018.

Benjamin Gucciardi grew up in San Francisco. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Orion Magazine, Forklift Ohio, upstreet, Radar Poetry, The American Poetry Journal,, and other journals. A Best New Poets nominee, he is a winner of a Dorothy Rosenberg Memorial Prize and contests from The Maine Review and The Santa Ana River Review. He works with refugee and immigrant youth in Oakland.
