Sponge Talk #2: Eddie Hopely & Faith Hale

Please join us for the second installment of Sponge Talks featuring Eddie Hopely and Faith Hale at E.M. Wolfman Books!

Bios coming soon!

Sponge has embarked on a series of talks at the E.M. Wolfman bookstore and gallery in Downtown Oakland. Each talk will place two writers of different traditions in direct dialog with one another and the community at large. There is no central theme nor subject matter—neither for individual talks nor the series at larger—rather, these talks will seek to highlight the subterranean connections between works that arise from friendship and proximity.

These talks will engage the broader community with both formal and informally. A moderated Q&A after each event will allow audience members to engage directly with the writers, inserting criticality and theorization directly into the “post-reading” space in which they so rarely appear. And, for those seeking a less formal environment, there will be “office hours” each Tuesday following the talks. These events will provide a casual, intimate space in which anyone is welcome to meet the authors, ask questions, and just hang out.
