We are so excited for two poets whose work we love and you can too! Jared Joseph has a brand new book, Drowsy. Drowsy Baby, out from Civil Coping Mechanisms and Aja Couchois Duncan has a book from just last year, Restless Continent, with Litmus Press. Will they read from these books, or will they read from...ELSEWHERE? You'll have to come to find out!
Jared Joseph is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop MFA program in poetry, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Literature at the University of California – Santa Cruz. Recent poems have been published in Fence, Noo Journal, and Yes. His book Drowsy. Drowsy Baby was published by Civil Coping Mechanisms, while his and Sara Peck’s collaborative book here you are is available from Horse Less Press.
Lush with elemental imagery, Aja Couchois Duncan communes with a North America that speaks elegiac, celebratory, and melancholic histories human and geological. Her debut collection Restless Continent (Litmus 2016) was selected by Entropy Magazine as one of the best poetry collections of 2016 and won the California Book Award in 2017. A fictional writer of non-fiction, she has published essays in the North American Review and Chain. When not writing or working she can be seen running in the Marin watershed with her life love, Dublin, an Australian Cattle Dog rescue who, one more than one occasion, saved her life.
