As part of the Wolfman Art Machine (WAM) Residency, the Oakland-based poetry reading series, Sponge, will feature monthly talks on poetry and poetics at E.M. Wolfman. Each talk will place two poets of different traditions in direct dialogue with one another and the community at large. There is no central theme to the subject matter—neither for individual talks nor the series at larger. Rather, these talks will seek to highlight the subterranean connections between poetry and poetic work that arises from friendship and proximity.
Sponge Talks will begin on Saturday October 7th from 7-9pm with the awesome talk-givers Trisha Low and Ryanaustin Dennis! This new series will take place at Wolfman Book's at 410 13th st. and will be followed with a casual "office hours" w/ the talk-givers and Sponge curators at the 40th Street Wolfman storefront. Click here for More information about all of the talks and the "office hours".
Refreshment and snacks will be provided!
The WAM Residency is graciously funded by Southern Exposure's Alternative Exposure grant program. Thanks SoEx!
